At the heart of the Parc
Naturel Régional Livradois, the town of
Ambert invites you to discover its rural
heritage, its mills, its mayor round (curiosity!)
and most importantly, delicious Fourme
flavored milk cow, specialty of the city.
This village with ancient origins, once
tragic theater of several clashes between
Catholics and Huguenots, was once a major
stronghold of paper mill before, since
the 17th century, this production is
abandoned in favor of making braids and
laces
Now a historic site, cultural and
sporting remarkable, you will enjoy many
tourist landmarks (Gothic church, zoo,
museums) and can practice sports and
outdoor range in a natural setting.
Remember to visit in addition to School
1900, the Moulin Richard de Bas, gardens to
the Earth or Agrivap. The region of
Ambert promises many activities and
visits, an unforgettable story rich in
discovery.
Feel free to stay at the hostel in Saint-Martin-des-Olmes
